Good ventilation seems obvious. Until it’s missing. Then problems arise that you don’t always see, but you do feel: stuffy air, cold drafts, moisture, and mold.
At Fresh-r, we make healthy indoor air obvious again. We develop smart, decentralized ventilation solutions with heat recovery that continuously provide healthy air without unnecessary energy loss. Compact, demand-driven, and quick to install. Suitable for both new and existing buildings.
The Heart of the Fresh-r solution
The heat exchanger with 5 kilometers of thin copper wire is an invention by father and son Van Andel. Around 2012, the Fresh-r was designed circularly in collaboration with TU Delft. Our family business is owned by the founders, and we produce the heat exchanger and assemble the Fresh-r in our beautiful Twente. Most parts come from Dutch suppliers, the fans from Germany, and the electronics from Asia.

Our technology addresses one of the biggest problems in modern, well-insulated buildings: moisture accumulation and mold formation. By smartly measuring, controlling based on dew point and CO2, and providing extra ventilation when needed, we prevent problems from arising instead of combating them afterwards.
The Fresh-r is designed to be circular. This not only provides environmental benefits at the end of its lifespan but also means that a component can be easily replaced if necessary.
The Fresh-r is certified by BCRG (for BENG and energy labels), the international Passive House, and UL for the United States.
