Does smart per-room control actually fit within the regulations?

Smart per-room control is not, in itself, an obstacle. The chosen system must demonstrably meet the applicable structural, ventilation, acoustic, fire-safety and any local requirements within the specific project. Sensor-based control can be applied on top of the required base ventilation to respond to varying occupancy and moisture load; the justification and commissioning remain project-specific.
